Overview

School trip to Cave Switzerland

Knowledge becomes an experience.

Cool air, the echo of your own footsteps, stalactites that have grown over thousands of years: In the St. Beatus Caves, the school trip becomes an excursion into geology, history and nature. Pupils experience at first hand what no textbook can convey.

Whether it's a geology excursion in the Bernese Oberland, an educational nature trip on Lake Thun or a school trip to Interlaken to supplement the curriculum - the St. Beatus Caves offer tailor-made programmes for school classes. Guided themed tours, an interactive museum and an extensive park area make the excursion with school classes an eventful full-day programme.

The St. Beatus Caves are suitable for all school levels from Year 1 upwards. Yes, a visit to the St. Beatus Caves can be ideally integrated into the curriculum. The temperature in the cave is 8-10 °C all year round with high humidity. Warm clothing and good footwear are a must - even in summer. The path to the entrance is steep and there are 297 steps to climb in the cave. Food and drink are not permitted in the cave. There is a fire pit in the park for picnics.

Plan at least half a day. The "Kurz & Präzis" tour takes about 1 hour, the "Schnitzel & Jagd" tour about 2 hours. Plus the museum, the Flimbo trail and a break at the fireplace. It is an 8 to 10 minute walk from the car park to the cave entrance. A full-day programme with all the activities on offer is easily possible.
