The guided themed tours of the St. Beatus Caves offer a wide range of discovery options. Whether it's a compact tour, an interactive scavenger hunt or culinary delights under stalactites - experienced tour guides will lead you through the hidden world inside the Niederhorn massif.

Each cave tour is an experience in itself - ideal for groups, clubs, companies and school classes. All guided tours take place in the stalactite cave on Lake Thun and can be booked individually.

Short & precise

Compact cave tour for groups with limited time

The "Kurz & Präzis" tour is the ideal way to discover the beauty of the St. Beatus Caves in around an hour. Experienced tour guides lead you through the stalactite cave and offer insights into the geological features, historical background and unique characteristics.

Schnitzel & Hunting

Interactive scavenger hunt through the stalactite cave

The "Schnitzel & Hunt" tour combines adventure with discovery. Follow clues, solve puzzles and explore secret corners of the St. Beatus Caves. Modern technology makes the scavenger hunt even more exciting - ideal for school trips, families and group activities.

Culinary & sensual

Cave discovery with culinary delights

Experienced guides will lead you through the underground passages and present regional specialities that will enchant your senses. Snacks and regional drinks - including alcoholic beverages - provide a unique accompaniment to the experience. This tour can be organised as an aperitif and ideally combined with dinner at the Stein & Sein restaurant.

Stalactite cave tours for schools

Curriculum-orientated cave tours for school classes.

The themed tours "Short & precise" and "Schnitzel & hunting" are ideal for school trips. Pupils experience geology, history and nature at close quarters - directly in the stalactite cave on Lake Thun.

All cave tours are available daily from Monday to Sunday. Individual start times on request - except between 12 and 2 pm.

Photography

Photography is permitted in the caves. Please leave tripods at the ticket office. Smoking, eating and drinking are not permitted in the cave.

Good to know

The temperature in the cave is 8-10 °C. Warm clothing and non-slip footwear recommended. Drinks and snacks are included in the culinary tour.

The St. Beatus Caves offer three guided themed tours: "Short & Precise" (approx. 1 hour, from CHF 30), "Scavenger & Hunting" (approx. 2 hours, interactive scavenger hunt, from CHF 49) and "Culinary & Sensual" (approx. 2 hours, with aperitif, from CHF 65). All tours are led by experienced guides.

How many people or more can book a group tour?

The "Culinary & Sensual" tour can be booked for a minimum of 10 people. The "Short & Precise" and "Schnitzel & Hunting" tours require a minimum of 20 people. Minimum prices per group apply. Further details can be found on our page for groups.
