This is how a perfect Sunday begins.

Sunday morning, half past nine. You step out onto the terrace of the Stein & Sein rock restaurant. Lake Thun glistens below you, with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau towering into the sky behind you. The buffet smells of fresh braided bread from the bakery, alongside cheese and charcuterie from the Bernese Oberland. You pour yourself a fresh orange juice, toast with a glass of Prosecco - and realise that brunch between Thun and Interlaken couldn't get off to a better start.

Oven-warm plaited bread, crusty farmhouse bread and croissants - freshly delivered from our bakery in the Bernese Oberland. Served with homemade jams, alpine butter and honey from the region.

Cheese, charcuterie & cold dishes

Carefully selected cheeses and cold meats from local producers. Plus Bircher muesli, fresh fruit salads, smoked salmon and a seasonal salad selection.

Hot meals

Scrambled eggs, bacon, rösti and a variety of hot dishes - depending on the season and the inspiration of our kitchen. Lighter creations in summer, savoury classics from the region in winter.

Sweets & Drinks

Seasonal desserts, fine patisserie and fresh fruit. Served with coffee and tea à discrétion, freshly squeezed orange juice - and a glass of Prosecco to toast.

When does the Sunday brunch on Lake Thun take place?

Our Sunday brunch takes place every Sunday from 9.30 am to 12.00 noon in the Stein & Sein rock restaurant at the St. Beatus Caves - between Thun and Interlaken, directly on Lake Thun. For groups of 15 people or more, we also offer brunch from Monday to Saturday.

How much does Sunday brunch cost?

Adults pay CHF 49, children from 6 to 16 years CHF 29, children under 6 years brunch for free. The family package (parents + children 6-16) is available for CHF 139, while the combined brunch + cave offer costs CHF 54 (adults), CHF 34 (children 6-16) and CHF 169 (family package).

Do I have to book for the brunch?

Yes, a reservation is strongly recommended. The Sunday brunch is popular and seating is limited to 150 - 75 inside and 75 on the terrace. Book online or by telephone on +41 33 841 16 43. The terrace seats with a view of the lake in particular fill up quickly when the weather is fine.

Can I combine brunch with a visit to the cave?

Yes, with our combined offer you can combine Sunday brunch and a visit to the cave at a special price. Adults pay CHF 54, children CHF 34, the family CHF 169 - a perfect Sunday outing on Lake Thun. The combined offer cannot be combined with guided tours.

Is brunch also available for groups during the week?

Yes, we also offer brunch from Monday to Saturday (9.30-12.00) for groups of 15 or more. The prices are identical: CHF 49 for adults, CHF 29 for children (6-16 years). The Thun and Interlaken region offers several brunch locations - from boat trips on Lake Thun to hotels in Interlaken and mountain restaurants. Our Sunday brunch in the rock restaurant of the St. Beatus Caves is the only one that can be combined with a visit to the stalactite caves. The backdrop of the cliffs with a direct view of Lake Thun makes breakfast a special experience.

Is the brunch also suitable for families with small children?

Absolutely. Children under 6 eat for free, and the family package (CHF 139) also makes Sunday brunch family-friendly in terms of price. After brunch, the children can use the playground next to the restaurant or set off together on the Flimbo Trail - the interactive adventure trail for children right next to the St. Beatus Caves.
